Bella

This is Bella,  our partner.  Not sure if we rescued her or she us.  What a joy to have around to help us make wedding gifts groomsmen gift ideas and wood crafts

Mary and I purchased a home in Brunswick, Georgia in 2006 and after extensive renovations , we finally moved in 2007.  We had lived our entire lives in small towns in upstate New York.  We married in 1978 beneath a black Walnut tree on our property in North Rose.  We had an airstrip, a Comanche airplane, and we are both licensed pilots.  We both worked long hours but were able to travel with our plane.  Winter break of 1980 was very fortuitous.  We discovered a small resort on Crooked Island, Bahamas.  We flew our plane down there for 18 winter breaks and consider it our favorite place on earth.  

     I ran the family  business after college and my service in the Army.  My grandfather (John) started a general store and funeral home in 1906.  My father (Bernard) continued and transformed the general store into a furniture store.  I took over and expanded the furniture store and funeral home.

     Mary began her teaching career in Manhattan.  She got tired of the big city and moved back home.  (Lyons, NY.)  She was not tired of teaching and again became a science teacher in her home district.  Biology  and human anatomy and physiology (advanced) was her area of expertise.

     I sold the business and she retired in 1999.  We sold the plane and purchased a catamaran sail boat that we travel south with for the winters.  Crooked Island again was our destination and we spent many happy days there.  We left our boat at Brunswick Landing marina for the summer of 2005, we  liked the area.  Our parents had passed and we decided to sell our property in NY and moved to Brunswick.

     I have always liked working with wood and now keep busy in my shop honing my skills.    Mary learned the basics of basket making in the Bahamas and discovered she also liked to paint.  We rescued Bella Mia and she assists in my shop and also  helps Mary.  Covid has put a damper on our travels so we have more time to create
